MIKANA is a Japanese kana learning app that uses radicals and mnemonics to make kanji easier to remember. Learning the Japanese writing system is one of the biggest challenges of learning this language. With the help of mini-games, handwritten character recognition, and a handy dictionary, the Mikana app effectively teaches Japanese kana and basic vocabulary.

"MIKANA" is a combination of the words "mikan", which is a sweet mandarin orange popular in Japan, and "kana"- the system of syllabic writing used for Japanese: hiragana and katakana.
The color scheme is bright and energizing, like a citrus fruit. It is meant to motivate the user and make them want to return for the next lesson. The interface is clean and high-contrast, making it easy to read and distinguish shapes.
Having identified the app's primary functions, I mapped out all the needed screens. Then I prepared wireframes for one of the paths. In the end, I created a working prototype of the chosen part of the app.
